Production Database Maintenance Aug 29, 21:30-21:45 PDT
We will be performing maintenance on our production database systems next week. Maintenance will start at 09:30PM PDT on Monday, August 29th and we expect it to take 10 minutes. While it is running there may be a slight increase in overall site latency. We do not expect that it will have any transactional impact.

Monitoring - On Friday at 1:00PM PDT until Friday 1:17PM PDT we experienced elevated API error rate. We are operating normally and continuing to monitor.

Investigating - We are investigating a service degradation on the *Stage* website/API that occurred overnight. One of our Memcache servers crashed around 8pm Pacific on Wednesday evening and all requests were routed to MySQL directly, causing latency across all layers of the *Stage* service. We are presently investigating the impact, and reviewing our monitoring and alerting systems to understand why our Ops team missed this issue overnight.
